Having made connections with the NAACP, ENSJ convened the Social Studies Task Force which included MPS teachers, the Milwaukee Area Jewish Committee, the YWCA, the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Milwaukee Ethnic Council, the Milwaukee Teachers Education Association (the local union) the ACLU, a student chapter of Voces de la Frontera, the Wisconsin Labor History Society, the Peace Learning Center, Rethinking Schools and faculty from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Marquette University and National Louis University.


Bob and Wendell co-chaired this coalition and continue to do so. The taskforce would meet on a monthly basis at the NAACP offices in Milwaukee to work on creating a preferable package of materials for adoption.
